(More customer reviews)Let me start out by saying that this project started when my 1998 Honda Civic's muffler pipe rusted through and broke apart from the tail pipe assembly. I ordered a new muffler that would bolt back together with the existing exhaust pipe but while I was down there I noticed more rust on the exhaust pipe. I determined that I would need new pipe from the catalytic converter back. I thought that this Bosal VFM1732 Resonator and Pipe Assembly would do the job. This is unfortunately not the case if you wish to remain street legal. This pipe assemble does not bolt to the catalytic converter and there is a very good reason for this because the catalytic converter does not use bolts to connect to the exhaust pipe. Honda decided to use some sort of bolt weld that will not come off. So what you get with this product is a pipe from the muffler to the exhaust manifold with no provision for a catalytic converter. This presented a problem for me since I needed to get my car inspected and if you remove your catalytic converter not only will you fail emissions but your engine light turns on and you will also fail inspection. If you do not require a catalytic converter this product will bolt right up but remember to order the GASKETS!!! Otherwise you'll be like me with brand new pipe that sounds really loud because its not sealed right. I did drive around with the pipe connected straight to the exhaust manifold with no converter for about a week while I waited for gaskets to arrive. Ultimately, I cut the old pipe near the catalytic converter and cut the new pipe the same distance from the manifold bolt up and welded the old catalytic converter to the new pipe. With the new gaskets and accurate cutting and welding everything bolted right up and the car is fixed. If you are looking for a bolt-up replacement for your Civic exhaust system this will not work if you want to remain street legal. Other than that, this product fit perfectly on my Civic without the converter and it arrived in good shape. I wish there weren't so many stickers on the pipe or that they came off easier. I just kept them on the pipe and let them melt off. So don't order this if you don't want to do some metal work.
