Magnaflow 16621 Stainless Steel 3" Single Cat-Back Exhaust System Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)Installed this on my 2005 Dodge Dakota 4.7L V8. I tow a 19' Wanderer Lite (3000lbs empty). I am now getting mid teens on the towing mileage (up from 9 or 10mpg). When I am not towing, I get the mid 20's on the highway. Very throaty sound and quite noticeable in the cab. The truck no longer likes the low RPM's as it will downshift quite a bit in city driving. I resolved that by putting it in tow gear when driving in town. Actual installation took less than 90 minutes at a local garage. I do (and the repair shop agrees) that you should stick with the single exhaust for this engine. The dual exhaust can remove too much back pressure and actually reduce engine performance. I did like the idea of the dual exhaust but saw this reasoning and am very happy with the single 3". I have verified the fuel economy via an installed ScanGauge II.
