(More customer reviews)After camping in the desert in triple digit temperatures, our Norcold refrigerator was having issues keeping up. We stopped at a RV Store to have it checked out and the service tech said everything was working just fine, but in this type of heat, it would never get all that cold.
He suggested I install a fridge fan in the refrigerator compartment to aid in exhausting the air coming off the coils.
Rather than have to worry about adding extra outlets, messing with the temperature settings or having something that I would have to remember to turn on and off, I opted for the Solar Fridge Fan from Valterra.
Hardest part of putting the whole fan on was removing the silicone the RV Manufacturer put in the refrigerator vent cover.
Once I had that cover off, I simply screwed the fan into the exhast opening, routed the wire out through the fridge vent and mounted the tiny solar panel atop the vent cover.
As long as the sun is out, the fan is working and aiding the fridge in keeping our beer cold. We've had this installed for over 2 years now with no issues what so ever and our Norcold refrigerator has always been able to keep up.
I'm actually thinking about buying one of these for our RV Bathroom at the campground I work at in Florida so the humid air can be exhausted without having to worry about switches or leaving it on or wasting fossil fuels.
Great little product and highly recommended!!!
