I was doing this for the very first time, it was a struggle to remove the old pipe, not as much for getting the new pipe in although it took a little while to figure out how to thread it through where it goes.
I wound up at Home Depot buying an angle grinder with a cutting wheel at 10:45 PM. Save yourself the trouble, and secure a sawzall before you tackle this. Grind off anything you need to after that, but definitely use at LEAST an angle grinder.
If I may, swap out your catalytic converter while you are down there. I had a professional do it after the fact, my sound was much better, my performance improved, exhaust smell (and inspection!) improved, and the floor of my Jeep doesn't burn my feet anymore.
I found a Magnaflow Direct Fit Performance Cat from an online parts store for under $100.
