Vibrant 1209 3" Round Stainless Streel Tip Review

(More customer reviews)This tip is a dual-wall beveled-edge design, not a single-wall rolled-edge design, as described. The photo is accurate though, and the tip looks very nice on the car, making a classy statement, not a tacky one.
The product description, features and details do not mention that this tip is designed to slide onto a 2" pipe and be welded in place. It could also be butt-welded to a 2.25" pipe. It's well-constructed and properly polished. It cleans easily with regular car-wash detergent in water. Just be aware that the beveled edge blackens up fairly quickly from exhaust gas, so it must be cleaned regularly. Neglecting the cleaning does no harm, it just obscures the bevel and makes the tip look like an ordinary 3" single-wall pipe.
A great buy. Highly recommended!

It is actually Amazon's fault for not including this information but, if you go to Vibrant's website and look up this part number it clearly states:
Inlet Diameter: Fits up to 2" Tailpipe
Outlet Diameter: 2.5"
Overall Length: 5"
Tip Style: Single Wall, Angle Cut, Rolled Edge

(More customer reviews)Great exhaust tip. Fits a 2" stock pipe perfectly. I've been driving with it for a couple months now and haven't had any problems or loosening of the screws. This particular pipe is more of a smoked or black chrome as opposed to the normal silvery tint (as you can kind of tell in the picture). It's a great look. I'm very happy with it.

I selected this exhaust tip solely on the picture because I liked the design. I received it yesterday and it wasn't exactly like the picture but it still looks good. I just don't like to settle for something that is not exactly what I expected. It is indeed a dual square tip with rolled edges.
I haven't had the time to install it on my 98 Expedition but I will on my next day off. I'm sure it will look nice.

(More customer reviews)These are not 2-1/4" exhaust pipes. It is a 2" exhaust pipe because it can fit a 2" pipe. If it were a 2-1/4" pipe, it would fit a 2-1/4" pipe. The actual size of the pipe is 2-1/4" but that is not the correct way to title the pipe. With exhaust tips you always say it is the size of the pipe it can fit (2").
