Flex Head Oxygen Sensor Wrench Review

Flex Head Oxygen Sensor Wrench

I bought this wrench as well as another wrench for accessing and loosening the bank 1 oxygen sensor for my 99 Expedition. This wrench is superior due to the way the wrench head is grooved so the wrench can be turned in very small increments to get the best torque when loosening the oxygen sensor. It also is superior when it comes to tightening the oxygen sensor in the really tight space. I highly recommend this wrench over other wrenches available. This one has a lot more flexibility in loosening the oxygen sensor when you are reaching up and over the exhaust with no available space.

I used this to replace my original o2 sensor on my 2000 Mitsu Eclipse GT with Federal specs. I used it on my Bank 2, Sensor 1 which is in the front, around the heat shield. I believe you can also use it on your Bank 1, Sensor 1, which is near the firewall on the back.
easy install, and its OEM so i just plugged it in. no wires to splice! It cleared the code and turned off my check engine light.

For me this was the exact fit replacement. Local garages wanted $400.00 for the part and replacement. I bought an additional $4.00 tool and 20 minutes later it was fixed and ready for emmissions test.....

When I took my car to Autozone and they indicated my 02 sensor had gone bad (2004 Honda Civic LX) I panicked in a major way. After talking to a co-worker, he advised this was a repair we could do ourselves. After getting the part from Amazon, I rented a special wrench from Autozone (which is free, you just leave a deposit which is 100% refunded when you return it), and then I drove the car for 20 minutes (so the engine would expand a little from the heat. At that point we popped the hood, unhooked and unscrewed the old one, popped this in, and 5 miles later, the light was off and all was good.
If you can change a fuse, you can do this repair at home. The whole thing took about 2 minutes to do, and the only tool needed was the abovementioned wrench. 2 twists and done, saved me a $500 bill from the dealer.

This part worked perfect in my 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid. The dealership wanted to charge me $400 to replace this part. Instead I bought this part from Amazon and replaced it myself in about 20 minutes. Very easy to change out but you need to get a special ratchet fitting to unscrew the old one ($7 at Kragen's).

Sure, it was supposed to be for my exact year/make/model and engine. and sure, it fits. But as I found out from the Hyundai dealer, it does not work properly. Apparently the Hyundai E.C.M. is quite finicky about the input it receives, and this aftermarket O2 Sensor just can't cut it. Wasted my time and my money and still needed to shell out the big-bucks for a genuine OE part.

Replacing a worn-out oxygen sensor will save you money.
Properly functioning oxygen sensors are important when it comes to your vehicle's fuel economy and exhaust emissions. That's why checking for, and possibly replacing, a worn-out oxygen sensor is an important part of every routine tune-up. Plus, properly functioning oxygen sensors are good for the environment, and can save you hundreds of dollars in gasoline costs over the life of the sensor
A worn-out oxygen sensor:
* Wastes fuel
* Can cause engine performance problems, such as surging and hesitating
* Is the number one cause of excessive harmful exhaust emissions
* Accelerates catalytic converter damage
Replacing a worn-out oxygen sensor:
* Saves money in fuel costs
* Improves engine performance

I got a p0141 code from my honda accord '04 (secondary heated oxygen sensor malfunction) at my emissions testing and the people at napa were gonna charge me like 90$+ tax for the part. So instead of buying it I read a few things online and found this part, ordered it, installed it, and passed my emissions. Worked like a charm.

I had a P0420 CEL that came on/off every couple of weeks. Mechanics told me I needed a new catalytic converter, which is expensive from the dealership. Since it came on/off over and over, I figured it could be the O2 sensor (it's cheaper anyway). OEM fit, just plug in/out. It was a lot harder to pull the old one out due to the location of the sensor on my 03 Camry, but after a long time of trying different tools, I finally got the old one out and plugged the new one in. Cleared the codes and never came back on again after about 10k miles. This product indirectly saved me close to a thousand dollars.
