Denso 234-9021 Oxygen Sensor (Air and Fuel Ratio Sensor) Review

Check Engine Light: P1135
P1135: A/F Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank. 1 Sensor 1).
Bank. 1 Sensor 1 in my car was the sensor between the engine and the firewall. Its tricky to get to, but doable with a big wrench, and a couple of jack stands.
Here is what I did:
1) Find the sensor.
2) Spray it well with some PB Blaster while its warm, let it soak for a day.
3) Jacked it up, got underneath, and remove the sensor with a big 22mm wrench. This took a lot of effort.
4) Put some anti-seize (comes with it) on the new one and screw it in.
Problem fixed.

Even though Amazon said this was not applicable to 2003 Honda CR-V, the majority of other sources said that this was the one. Amazon said that it fits the 02 but not the 03 and and all sources said that they are the same. The only difference noted from the orginal was that it had a extra sleve piece for protection of the wire, but don't see that as a problem. Very easy install---I got the Oxygen Sensor Socket set and that made it very easy. Easier than changing the oil. Comes with anti-seize. Engine light is out and car runs perfect.

When I took my car to Autozone and they indicated my 02 sensor had gone bad (2004 Honda Civic LX) I panicked in a major way. After talking to a co-worker, he advised this was a repair we could do ourselves. After getting the part from Amazon, I rented a special wrench from Autozone (which is free, you just leave a deposit which is 100% refunded when you return it), and then I drove the car for 20 minutes (so the engine would expand a little from the heat. At that point we popped the hood, unhooked and unscrewed the old one, popped this in, and 5 miles later, the light was off and all was good.
If you can change a fuse, you can do this repair at home. The whole thing took about 2 minutes to do, and the only tool needed was the abovementioned wrench. 2 twists and done, saved me a $500 bill from the dealer.

I actually bought it for another truck that I used to cut down and fit. The quality of the intake is great and the inside portion is nice and smooth to control air while the outside has a good texture. Only complaint I have is that it's pretty pricey for a piece of plastic. $50 would be more than fair for this.

It is 30% cheaper than Autozone. And it is the same.
After changing the O2 sensor and reset the check engine light, the light went off and never on again. My mechanic charges $150 for changing the sensor. The dealer will only ask for more. Now it costs me only $70+ and several hours (it is too rusty at sensor joint.) to get the problem fixed.

This part worked perfect in my 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid. The dealership wanted to charge me $400 to replace this part. Instead I bought this part from Amazon and replaced it myself in about 20 minutes. Very easy to change out but you need to get a special ratchet fitting to unscrew the old one ($7 at Kragen's).

Sure, it was supposed to be for my exact year/make/model and engine. and sure, it fits. But as I found out from the Hyundai dealer, it does not work properly. Apparently the Hyundai E.C.M. is quite finicky about the input it receives, and this aftermarket O2 Sensor just can't cut it. Wasted my time and my money and still needed to shell out the big-bucks for a genuine OE part.

I had a P0420 CEL that came on/off every couple of weeks. Mechanics told me I needed a new catalytic converter, which is expensive from the dealership. Since it came on/off over and over, I figured it could be the O2 sensor (it's cheaper anyway). OEM fit, just plug in/out. It was a lot harder to pull the old one out due to the location of the sensor on my 03 Camry, but after a long time of trying different tools, I finally got the old one out and plugged the new one in. Cleared the codes and never came back on again after about 10k miles. This product indirectly saved me close to a thousand dollars.

After reading the review and the description I was certain this Sensor would fit my 2004 Hyundai Elantra. Imagine my disappointment when I find out the plug would not fit, nor could I splice the wires together seeing as how the Sensor on my car has 5 wires and this Sensor only has four.

This is the rear (behind the catalytic converter) Oxygen sensor for a few different versions of Subrarus, including my 2001 Forester L. The heating element in the old sensor died (a P0037 engine code error) and I picked up one of these. I bought a Oxygen Sensor 3/8 drive socket to go with it OEM 25001 3/8-Inch Dr. Oxygen Sensor Socket and it took about 30 minutes to swap out the old one and put in the new one. Be sure to purchase some anti seize lubricant with copper Loctite - Copper Anti-Seize Stick, 20 gramOn Sale (37616) to coat the threads with so that if have to replace the O2 sensor again you can actually get it out of the socket. It's an easy job to do and I'd think anyone that can handle a socket set can do it. Don't pay $300 to have someone else do this job when you can do it yourself. Good luck!

I went through six of these trying to get them to work. Good thing is Dodge made them easy to get to on my truck. Bad thing is I wasted alot of time and effort. This is the second type of sensor I have tried to use that was made by Bosch (other being TPS). Neither of them functioned properly. Go to the dealership the sensor is the same price as Bosch and IT WORKS.
