(More customer reviews)This thing is bare metal ... unless there's some high-tech invisible powder coating that nobody knows about .... but it certainly isn't black! I had to paint it myself so it wouldn't rot away in 2 years on these salty New England roads up here. Other than that, it's more durable that a traditional muffler due to the thicker metal, & it flows much better -- not that any of that really matters on a 4.3 liter 6 cylinder. Didn't buy it for the sound. If I wanted to go fast, I'd drop a V8 in & be done. Was a cheap, quick fix for our '89 S-10 Blazer. More quiet than no muffler at all, which is what I was after.
