I purchased these for a 1965 Ford Mustang 289 with a four-speed. The car had a set of headers (unknown brand P/N 6111) but these did not allow the removal of any of the spark plugs, were rusty and were dented in several locations. The motor had to be lifted to get them out of the car. The new 88660 Hedman headers went easily up onto the motor and bolted right up. No jacking up or moving of the motor was required. However, the passenger side touched the bell-housing and one tube (#6) on the driver side rested on top of the pivot for the equalizer bar (so it could not be reinstalled). I also found their was not quite enough room to tighten the spark plugs in #5 and #6 with a socket (the socket would fit on the plug but was so close to the pipe it could not be removed once the plug was tightened) and it was impossible to get a socket on #8. It's too bad as there was plenty of room in the engine bay for these to fit had the passenger side been designed to move the right an inch and the #6 tube been pulled up an inch to allow room for the equalizer bar. I can see that all spark plugs could also easily be accessible with a small movement of some of the piping. I'm just trying to get an inexpensive set to work as I have not decided if I want to keep this motor. I know when I put on a set on a 65 Mustang I had in the early 70's the fit was fine and I could get to all the plugs. Now almost 40 years later it seems from my research getting headers to fit is not so easy. Well I'm off to order set from another manufacturer.
