However, I had two problems: 1. The distance between the two engine mounting flanges was 1/4" too short. The stock converter has a distance of 25" between the outside of the front flange and the outside of the rear flange. The rear mounting flange would fit the exhaust manifold but the front flange did not. 2. The front pipe has a bend between the catalytic converter and the Y-connection which rubbed against the sub-frame. I took the Y-pipe to a local muffler shop and he heated the pipe with a torch at the bend behind the first converter and bent it enough to fit the front exhaust manifold and gave clearance between the pipe and the sub-frame. The factory instructions stated some welding might be necessary to make it fit.
The pipes are 2 1/2" diameter; the original pipes are 2 1/4". The larger diameter pipes give a deeper tone to the exhaust note, which I like.The quality of the stainless steel is impressive and should last much longer than the car. One caveat is the mounting bung for the oxygen sensor upstream of the second catalytic converter could have been 1/2" to 2" higher. As it is, the wires for the sensor are very close to the pipe below and could melt, perhaps causing the sensor to fail.
If the dimensions were closer to factory spec, it would have been an easy install and I would rate this item 5 stars.
