(More customer reviews)FlowMaster mufflers are the one and only, no other muscle car muffler comes close IMHO, so my review is not really about Flowmaster series 40 mufflers but more about the new "Super" 40 series.
The Series 40 muffler is Flowmaster's most aggressive sounding muffler, the "super" version was developed to reduce that annoying "resonance" sound that can occur inside the vehicle when cruising. The Super version does help with reducing resonance however under load like when pulling a trailer or driving up grade the sound is still there and can be very annoying. If rating the muffler solely on elimination of resonance I would give it a, 7 out of 10. If rating the muffler on helping with resonance while retaining that classic Flowmaster sound I'd give it a 9. It's well worth the added cost over the standard series 40 muffler but I think Flowmaster can do a better job reducing resonance. Hope this helps. Muscle on!
